Dear Host Family,
First of all, thank you so much for opening your home to me! I’m really excited about the opportunity to spend time in the United States and to become a part of your family for a while. I’m looking forward to getting to know you, your routines, and your culture.
I would describe myself as a calm, thoughtful, and curious person. I'm talkative and enjoy good conversations once i feel comfortable, and really like learning new things. At school, I really like languages, especially English, which is why I’m very excited to improve my skills by speaking English in my everyday life, not just at school.
In my free time, I enjoy playing music. I’ve been learning the piano and the flute. I also love reading, especially novels in English or German. I really like animals, especially cats, since we have three at home. So I’m very comfortable around pets and would be happy to live in a household with animals, but of course, that’s not something I expect. The same goes for children.I get along well with kids, but I’m also perfectly fine if there aren’t any. Some things I also enjoy are baking and writing.
I’m also looking forward to trying new food, joining family activities, and maybe even getting involved in some school clubs. I really enjoy spending time with my friends. They describe me as someone who's a little shy at first, but I usually warm up quickly and enjoy being part of a group.
In general, I would say I’m flexible and open to new experiences, even if they are different from what I’m used to in Germany. I know that things might work differently in your home, and I’m looking forward to discovering those differences and learning from them.
I hope I can be a helpful and respectful member of your household. I’m very grateful for this opportunity and can’t wait to meet you and learn more about your life!
Warm regards,
Elin
