Hello Future Host Family,
My name is José Miguel, and I am a teenager from Chile. I am a volleyball player, and I am a good student, especially into maths. My friends and family call me Jose, and I am the oldest of two siblings.
I have been thinking for a while about going on an exchange program, and it is an experience I would absolutely love to have. I feel there is so much to learn and explore, and I know I will never stop learning. I am excited about the idea of discovering the world, and I want to start with American culture. My native language is Spanish, but I have been learning English at school for over eight years, and I am eager to become fluent in it.
I love playing sports and always staying active. I am a cheerful person, and I enjoy laughing and having fun. Volleyball is my favorite sport, and I practice it three times a week with a team in my city. I also enjoy going out with friends to chat and eat. I am a big fan of food—I love it! That’s why I want to learn how to cook delicious meals. For me, food is a way to express myself and connect with others. I often cook for my family or share my meals with the people I love.
I have been part of a volleyball team for over two years, and I’ve participated in many competitions, experiencing both victories and defeats. I would love to join the school volleyball team and keep playing my favorite sport, but I am also excited to try new activities to discover what I am capable of and explore new interests.
I like mathematics, is a subject that I found easy, funny and useful, I have been participating in many math’s tournaments, for like 4 years, and recently I just won a gold medal in a national tournament, I was happy and exited about that, It was my first big prize.
My dad is a lawyer who works as a judge, and he has always been a sports enthusiast. He’s the one who has motivated me to play sports. My mom is a full-time mother who loves knitting, a passion she learned from my grandmother. My younger sister, who is two years younger than me, loves to sleep. We are a close-knit family and love traveling together.
I am excited about the opportunity to become part of your family as well.
Warm regards,
José Miguel
