's Letter

Dear host family, Hello, I am Eita from Japan. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to stay with you. Living with me, you can enjoy the following three things together. First, we can watch a sports game—I’m a big fan of basketball, and I play it every day. After practice, I usually have lunch with my teammates. Second, I’d love to teach you some Japanese phrases, introduce you to Japanese food, and share Japanese manga and anime with you. I’m a fan of manga too, especially NARUTO, Kingdom, and HUNTERXHUNTER! Third, I’d love to cook Japanese food with you. We can make dishes like okonomiyaki or Japanese curry together. But I’m not very good at cooking, so I’ll try my best from now on. I would like to introduce my family to you. My mother usually works from home. Once a week, she exercises with Pilates. She is happy when she gets muscle soreness. My father lives in a different place, but he regularly picks me up from school by car and we have meals together. When we are together, we share things like what he is currently interested in and what he is careful about in his daily life. I live with my grandparents and our cat ‘Komachan’ at home. My grandfather goes out to various places with his friends every day, loves walking to see historical sites, and is a big fan of golf. My grandmother is a kind person who always cares about me. She loves watching dramas and is the most knowledgeable about them. Our cat ‘Komachan’ always attacks me in the morning. She lies in wait and pounces on my feet from hiding, so mornings are busy, but I spend a little time playing with her. I want to do a job related to environmental issues or basketball. It's not yet clear, but first, I'm interested in preventing global warming and sustainable development. I became interested in these issues when I was in the 5th or 6th grade. I learned about environmental problems, and at that time, I thought I wanted to make a change. I started participating in local clean-up activities and joined environmental clubs at school. These experiences deepened my understanding of the impact humans have on the planet and fueled my passion for finding solutions to these pressing issues. Second, I enjoy playing basketball and am interested in basketball coaching. Basketball has been a significant part of my life since I was young. I play it almost every day, and it has taught me valuable lessons about teamwork, discipline, and perseverance. I have had the opportunity to coach younger players in my community, and I find great satisfaction in helping them develop their skills and love for the game. I believe that through coaching, I can inspire others to pursue their passions and lead healthy, active lives. I have always been passionate about making a positive impact on the world, and two areas that particularly interest me are environmental issues and basketball. Although my career path is not yet clear, I am determined to pursue a job related to one of these fields. My interest in environmental issues began when I was in the 5th or 6th grade. I learned about global warming and sustainable development, and I realized the importance of taking action to protect our planet. This realization led me to participate in local clean-up activities and join environmental clubs at school. Through these experiences, I gained a deeper understanding of the impact humans have on the environment and developed a strong desire to find solutions to these pressing issues. I am particularly interested in preventing global warming and promoting sustainable development, as I believe these are crucial for the future of our planet. On the other hand, basketball has been a significant part of my life since I was young. I play it almost every day, and it has taught me valuable lessons about teamwork, discipline, and perseverance. My passion for basketball extends beyond just playing the game; I am also interested in basketball coaching. I have had the opportunity to coach younger players in my community, and I find great satisfaction in helping them develop their skills and love for the game. Through coaching, I can inspire others to pursue their passions and lead healthy, active lives. In conclusion, whether I choose to pursue a career in environmental issues or basketball, I am committed to making a positive impact on the world. Both fields offer unique opportunities to contribute to society and help others, and I am excited to see where my journey will take me. Thank you for reading my letter and I'm looking forward to meeting you. Sincerely, Eita
