Dear Host Family,
thank you so much for being willing to participate in the exchange program and accepting me to live with your family.
My name is Charlotte and I’m from Germany. I live together with my parents, my two older sisters and our dog in a village. I speak three languages German, English and a little bit of French.
I like to try new things and want to see as much of the world as possible. I’ve been to the USA once in my life together with my parents, my sisters and my uncle. We went to New York City in winter 23/24 to New Year’s Eve for 7 days and it was very impressive to see one of the biggest cities in the world. Now I understand why New York is called “the city that never sleeps”. I particularly liked the atmosphere and the views from the observation decks. My highlight was to watch a football game in MetLife stadium.
My primary school teacher comes from Arizona, so she talked a lot about her life there and I always wanted to create my own picture of it.
There are several things that inspire me to go to America, because I want to get to know a different culture and I want to know what it’s like to attend a high school in the USA. In addition, I want to meet new people and make friends, I want to improve my English and want to know, how a normal daily routine is looking like as a teenager on the other side of the world and I also want to try new sports, for example football or baseball.
In my free time I enjoy doing sports. Three times a week, I practice artistic cycling, it’s an extraordinary sport, which is done mostly in Europe. If you want to learn more about artistic cycling you are welcome to watch my video.
In winter I often went to ice hockey games with my friends and just enjoyed the atmosphere of the arena. I also like meeting my friends and just hang out with them. We live not far away from a lake, so in summer I often go swimming with my sisters or my friends.
I hope I get the chance to take beautiful pictures and have unforgettable memories with you and my new friends in America.
I am excited to become a part of your family!
Warm regards,
Charlotte
