's Letter
Dear host family,
Thank you so much for being willing to participate in the exchange program and considering me to live with your family. I am Jule and I live in Germany. I am in grade ten and I speak three languages: German, English and Spanish. German is my native language, and I learned Englisch and Spanish at school. I am very curious, outgoing, straightforward, creative,a fun-loving person and always ready to try and discover new things. I want to travel and see the world, including America. I want to learn about the American culture and live there.I like to read and draw a lot. Since I was a kid I’ve loved to draw, craft things and listen to stories my parents read to me and when I was old enough read them myself. I am very interested in movies and everything that goes with it. Also a big part of my life is music. I listen to music everyday and it is just really important to me. My favorite artists are Stevie Nicks and Lana Del Rey and one of my dreams would be to someday meet them.I also really like to be outside to go for a walk either alone, with my mother or my brother. I enjoy playing sports, such as badminton, volleyball, basketball and swimming. So I would be very happy to join the school basketball or volleyball club in America. I understand that I may not be able to join these clubs at school so I am interested in trying other things and joining other school clubs. Also since I was six years old I did Marshial Arts and later Kickboxing. I like to spend time with my family, we often play board games together, watch movies or just sit and laugh together. We are a close family and I hope to become a part of your family as well. My dad is a teacher and he loves to work with kids. My mom is an Air Traffic Controller. Her english is very good and I learned most of my english from her. Nevertheless, I also need my time alone where I can find some peace with myself and my thoughts. I would be very happy if we could spend much time together, go on short trips for example visit museums. To go to America and learn about your culture is one of my biggest dreams. I would be glad to share some of the German culture with my host family, for example how we cook in Germany. I would love it if I can make some unforgettable memories with you and my new friends in America and I would be honored and very excited if I could become a part of your family. Now I can't think of that much anymore, if you want to know more, you probably have to get to know me in person ;)
Sincerely,
Jule
