's Letter
Dear Host Family,
I would like to talk a lot with my host families. I participated in an exchange program to improve my English skills and learn about American culture. For that reason, I would like to talk with you a lot, get to know each other, and have a fun time living in America.
I am an active person, so I would like to go shopping, camping, etc. with my host family on holidays. I want to cherish the time I spend with my host family and create many memories. Also, I would like to serve Japanese food to my host family. I hope that I can enjoy Japanese culture with everyone while learning about American culture. I have a nervous personality.
At first, I may be very nervous and may not be able to communicate well, but I will try my best to talk to you in order to get along with everyone. I would appreciate it if you could kindly respond to me at that time. I usually go shopping with my friends and sing at karaoke. I love singing, so I belong to the choir at school. When I go to America, I want to sing with you all.
I decided to study abroad to learn American culture and English. I also decided to go to the United States, far away from Japan, by myself in order to be able to do various things on my own. In America, I would like to participate in various activities to gain self-confidence.
I want to become an English teacher in the future. For that reason, I will do my best to study English.
My family is a family of 5 people. My grandmother is a very kind, sincere, and caring person.
My father is strong and always protects the family as the center of the family.
My mother is humble and supports the family by cooking delicious meals every day.
My sister is smart and always teaches me. I respect my family a lot.
I am grateful for the opportunity to study abroad, and I want to make the most of every day in America.
Finally, I would like to thank you for accepting me into your family.
I want to make this year in America a very memorable one in my life. I am really looking forward to spending time with you all.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Mao
