Dear future host family, First of all, I would like to say a huge thank you for giving me the opportunity to live with you for a whole year and I am extremely grateful for that. I am Luca and I come from Germany and live in a suburb of a big city. We have lots of lakes, canals, beautiful nature and nice people here. We have many sports clubs like tennis, soccer, badminton and rowing. What I decided to do at a young age is tennis here at the club. So I've been playing well and for a long time. I also train for competitions and tournaments. I also enjoy surfing and snorkeling. As I have traveled a lot, for example outside Europe, I have gained a lot of experience in both hobbies. Here in Germany I go to a so-called Gymnasium, which is like a high school in the USA. My favorite subjects are PE, English and geography. I would also like to choose these subjects in the USA. I would also like to join a tennis club to continue my passion for this sport. I really enjoy going to school because I get to see my friends every day and learn new things. My school has around 1000 students and 80 teachers, which is a lot for German standards. After school, I really enjoy meeting up with friends. We play tennis, volleyball, go shopping or just go into town. I generally do a lot of sport and am very open to new things.I also love cooking and baking. I'm not on a diet and I eat almost everything. I am looking forward trying new food and new recipes. I could also cook German food for you and introduce you to German culture and cuisine. Next I would like to tell you something about my family. My parents have been separated since I was little. They both have a new partner now and I get along very well with both of them. I am very active with both parts of my family, we go on a lot of vacations and trips. I've traveled the world a lot and love getting to know other cultures and countries. I love warm countries and beaches. I've also been to the USA a few times. And then there are my grandparents. I love the two parts of them very much and have already experienced a lot with them. I also have a very close relationship with them. I've also had lots of pets, such as dogs, mice and birds. I love animals very much and get on really well with them. I am a very happy person. I am very active, communicative, I talk a lot and bring joy with me. Nevertheless I am an emotional person and take a lot to heart. When things come up that I didn't expect, I try to handle them well and keep the situation under control. I really want to go to the USA because I have been there a few times and it has always been a dream for me to live there. I would like to go to a typical American high school and make new friends there. I hope to have one of the best times of my life so far and leave a part of me there. I want to learn as much as I can about the country, see as much as I can and make new contacts. I hope I can become a part of your family and not just remain the exchange student. I want to grow beyond myself and discover a new part of myself. With this experience, I would like to pursue my dream of becoming a pilot. Because that's what I need English for. I can pursue my passion for getting to know new countries and cultures and discover the world.
