Dear host family, My name is Hugo, I have 14 years old, my family is compound of my dad Nestor who is 48 years old, my mom Raquel who is 49 and my brother Mario who is 12. My both parents work as tax consultant and my brother Mario goes to the same school as me. We are a very active family, we usually go hiking on the weekends, to the beach on summertime, we usually take our paddle surfs to have some fun on the beach during the day and go dinner outside sometimes on sunndays, when is possible. My grandparents live near my house so I usually go to visit them frecuently to see how are they and to make them company. And last but not least Fede is my little dog, is a Yorkshire who is 3 years old. I love to play with him and I am in charge of taking a walk with him and that´s a thing I enjoy a lot, I also teach him some tricks so when people come to our home I can impress them with some easy tricks like giving the hand or jumping to the air. I study in a public school. It is a big school with so many classes, so there are many kids, and I have a lot of friends. Another good thing of my school is that is near my home so I can come back with the public bus with my brother by our own. My school thinks that is better learning by school works so we usually make working groups of two or three children and then we make the presentation in class. My last work was to cook a recipie in english with two children and filming us in a video. I like doing any kind of sports like football, basketball, swimming, volleyball, I also have practiced another kind of sports like paragliding, cliff jumping but always with my parents supervision and in a safe way. But if I have to choose one I would choose Climbing, without a doubt it is my sport and I love it. I started Climbing two years ago and I train three times a week inside a rokodrome around 2 hours of training every day I go. Also I complete my training going to the gym twice a week with another 2 hours of training. I am an independent person, I go every place I need by my own but I always keep in mind the things that my parents told me (to be safe). I usually help with the housework, hanging and folding laundry, vacuuming or helping to cook to my fathers. I am a secure and brave person, and have clear ideas of what I want. Also I’m a social person, I like to be around of people and I like to laugh, and play board games (specialy Monopoly, I’m really good at it!). This personality traits I think will help me to enjoy the experience of studying abroad and get to know the American culture. I’ve grew up with tv shows and films about the States and I can’t wait to live an experience like this one. I know I will miss my family and friends in Spain, but I’m sure that this experience will be extraordinary, and people I will met will become like family to me and I hope they will accompany me for the rest of my life.
