Hello dear host family! My name is Swan and I live in a small town in the southwest of France. I am currently in a high school , in Secondary, general stream (it's the equivalent of 10th grade in the United States). My mother is a graphic designer and my father is an IT manager in a company that sells scooters. My parents have been married for 10 years, which is good and allowed me to grow up in a good environment. I also have a little brother called Loan, he is 13 years old and he is in 3rd grade, we don't have many common interests but we get along well. If I had to define myself in a few words I would say that I am a curious person, I like discovering new things. I am also open-minded and love meeting new people. Of course I also have faults like my shyness but I remain friendly and I can easily communicate with people. My main interests are video games, I play a game called trackmania, it's a racing game where the goal is to achieve the best possible times. I also have other passions like basketball, I haven't played in a club for 3 years but I have the opportunity to play with my brother, I would really like to start playing in a team again. I also like spending time with my friends and going on outings like going to the movies, going karting or going to the skatepark, I started skating not long ago and I'm trying to improve. Last year I was able to try table tennis which is a sport that I love but as I love many things I had to choose… Regarding the things I don't like, I think I can adapt to any situation I'm faced with. I have no dietary restrictions so I eat a little bit of everything. I'm just allergic to dust mites but it doesn't bother me much. love animals, we have had a dog for 4 years that we adopted from a shelter, and other animals like a rabbit and a turtle. In a typical day, I go to high school, located a few kilometers from my home, by bus. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Then I arrive at school and start classes at 9am. I have different courses like French, physics-chemistry or history. My school day usually ends around 6 p.m. and then I have free time to do my homework or do things I like. My favorite subject is English even if I don't have a high level, I like this subject because it allows me to communicate with a lot of people, during my college years I was able to choose the reinforced English option which allowed to have an extra hour of English during the week where we could deepen what we had seen in class. And so by choosing this option I had the opportunity to take a one-week trip to Ireland. I had the chance to take a few trips with my family. For example, this summer I went to Tunisia with my parents and my brother. My goals for this year of exchange in the USA are above all to discover a country and its culture, as I said I am a curious person, so I look forward to discovering your customs and your way of life. The second objective concerns language, I hope to return to France with a good command of English. I would also like to come back even more mature and more independent. For the moment I don't have a precise idea of the profession I would like to do later and perhaps this experience could direct me towards a profession.
