's Letter
Dear Host Family,
I hope this letter finds its way to you with warmth, allowing you to get to know me a little before my imminent arrival! I would like to express my deepest gratitude to you for opening the doors of your home and welcoming me during my exchange journey. It is an opportunity I have always desired and now it becomes a reality, thanks to your generosity and hospitality.
As I prepare for this experience, I have been reflecting on how wonderful it would be to have a sister as a companion. I sincerely believe that having a sister would not only provide a constant and loving presence, but would also be crucial for my adaptation to this new environment. The presence of a sister would offer a sense of comfort and mutual support that would be invaluable during this transitional period.
Additionally, I would like to share a bit more about myself. I am 16 years old and in the final year of high school. I chose to embark on this exchange to complete my studies in an international environment, aiming to enrich my academic and personal experience. I am excited to challenge myself academically, learn from new teachers and classmates, and broaden my horizons in a multicultural setting.
I am passionate about sports, especially volleyball, soccer, handball, and others. I have always dreamed of being a cheerleader and actively participating in the fun activities at school. I hope that together, we can explore the sports opportunities that the local community offers.
Furthermore, I enjoy going out and exploring new places. Whether it's walking around the city, visiting landmarks, or seeking out new adventures, I am always eager to live enriching experiences. My relationship with my friends is similar; we have fun together, go out, visit each other's houses to chat or order food, go to the movies, parks, and participate in school outings, which happen every semester. And since we live in front of the beach, we often go there.
With my family, it's the same, even though school and work sometimes make it a bit challenging due to the workload. On some weekends, we choose to travel to visit my other relatives, or we watch movies, sometimes we have lunch out, and on holidays, vacations, and planned weekends, we go to the islands, beaches, and waterfalls around my city to explore.
I am fully aware that this opportunity would not be possible without your support and dedication. Therefore, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for providing this unique experience in my life. I know that this journey will bring challenges, but I am completely determined to face them and make the most of every moment.
I am excited to share my culture, learn from you, and contribute in any way I can to family life. Please know that I am here to help with household chores, participate in family activities, and fully integrate into the household routine. I am determined to make this experience enriching for all of us.
With warmth and gratitude,
Ingrid
