Irsha
's Letter
Dear American family,
Greetings from across the oceans! My name is Irsha, and I am eager to unveil a tapestry of my life in India, as well as my hopes for our coming exchange. The prospect of joining your family fills me with curiosity and excitement.
I am currently a 10th grade student at one of the most prestigious universities in India, and I am proud to be associated with it.
My family consists of five cherished members, including my parents and two younger
brothers. What binds us together as a family is our shared love for reality shows and
movies. The joy we derive from spending quality time together in front of the television, sharing laughter, and creating lasting memories is something i hold close to my heart.
When it comes to chores at home, I eagerly embrace the role of the weekend home
caretaker. It's during these two days that I don the hat of a diligent cleaner, meticulously sweeping and dusting to ensure our living space remains spotless. On the weekdays, my tasks are relatively lighter, mostly involving folding clothes and making the bed, as the bulk of our cleaning is expertly tackled during the weekends.
Now, let's talk about my interests. I absolutely adore singing! I'm a big fan of classic Indian songs and patriotic tunes. You'll often find me taking the stage at our school functions, and usually get to be the lead performer. Our school organizes around 6-7 events throughout the year, and I eagerly participate in all of them.
Friendship, for me, is a cherished treasure. I have two best friends who, coincidentally, attend the same school but in a different branch. Due to our school timings, we are incapable of meeting daily, but eagerly wait for Fridays, the day we reunite. These gatherings are filled with animated conversations, accompanied by sips of refreshing juices. We tend to shy away from phone conversations, choosing to relish these face-toface moments . Apart from my best friends, I'm blessed with other wonderful friends both at school and during my tution classes.
I reside in a city with a rich history and vibrant culture. It's a city that beautifully blends the traditional and modern aspects of my country. It boasts a diverse cuisine, historical monuments and bustling markets. I am proud to call it my home city.
Looking ahead, my family and I have always had one dream in common - for me to become a doctor. To make that happen, I'll need to ace a government entrance exam and secure a spot at a government medical college. The thought of donning a white coat and wielding A stethoscope fills me with excitement. I can do anything for it. I have consistently performed well in my class and put in dedicated efforts to excel academically.
There are a few facets of my personality that I would like you, my prospective host family, to know. I'm remarkably talkative and I possess a deep-seated love for cleanliness and order. I firmly believe that everything has its place, and I derive great satisfaction from maintaining a neat and well-organized environment.
My exchange experience holds great significance to me. I am eager to learn about your culture, your country and your way of life. I hope to make new friends, build lasting relationships and experience the incredible U.S. education system, which I believe will broaden my horizons and knowledge. Thank you for opening your home and your hearts to me. I eagerly anticipate the days when we can come together, share our stories and create beautiful memories.
Irsha
