's Letter

Dear Host family, My name is Zoë, and I am thrilled of the idea to live with you for the next 10 months. I am very excited about the opportunity to experience your culture and share mine with you. Thank you for offering students like me the possibility to participate in an exchange program to the US. I love spending time with my friends. I am a very funny, extroverted, friendly person. I love playing Basketball with my teammates it is one of my favorite activities, horse riding is also one of my favorite activities. I've been doing both of these activities since I was six years old, they both have shaped me in every way possible. I love traveling and discovering new cultures. Which is the main reason why I want to do an exchange year in the USA. I already went to the USA to New York for the holidays with my father, but I haven't seen much, since I only did the touristy things. I am very interested in the American culture and how it differs from the European one I know. My father is a Banker and loves watching Sports just like me. He especially likes football well soccer for you. My mother is a social worker and she loves to go hiking and listening to music. My Brother is three years younger than me and goes to ninth grade, he loves soccer and hopes to be a professional player one day. I am junior, so in eleventh grade. I just started in a new school this year in Germany before that I was in a french school in Luxembourg. I speak both German and French fluently. I also speak Luxembourgish, English and I can say a couple of words in Chinese, since I took a class in school for three years. My dad is from Cameroon and my mother is from Germany and Serbia. These three cultures are a very important part of my life. I would also like to add another culture and that is the french one. Even though neither of my parents are French, I went to a french school for almost six years and my dad was born in Paris and lived there for 13 years before he went to Cameroon. I would like very much to bring a little bit of those cultures to your family. My life in my home country is very basic I go to school and after school I either do my homework, go to basketball training, or hang out with my friends. I go horse back riding on weekends. On weekends I spend time with my family and friends. I love my family and friends over everything and they help and support me in every possible situation. I love taking pictures of everything that happens, in order to make those memories last longer. I hope that I will be able to make a lot of great memories with you and your family. To look back at these pictures, and remembering the great time I had with you. I am very excited to be part of your family! Warm Regards Zoë
