's Letter

Dear Host Family Nice to meet you! My name is Kinatsu! I'm glad to meet you all! When I go to America, I want to cook with you and make Japanese food because I like to cook. I also want to enjoy events such as Halloween and Christmas with you all. I have been doing calligraphy since I was 6 years old and I am very confident in my skills. I want to teach you about Japanese calligraphy, Japanese food, and other Japanese traditions and culture that you should be proud of. I love singing, dancing, and acting, and I am a member of the musical club. Musicals make me smile and give me energy just by watching them. I joined the musical club because I longed to be a part of such an existence. And, I like watching movies and dramas and listening to music, so I would love to share my thoughts with everyone. I go to school by train from Monday to Saturday, and I am in charge of cooking dinner every night. At school, I like to spend time in history class and have lunch with my friends. Also, on my days off I enjoy going to cafes with my friends and watching movies. The reason why I participated in this program is because I think I need a broader perspective and way of thinking now, and I wanted the opportunity to leave my parents at this high school age, before entering university, to study at an American high school in English while experiencing a different culture from Japan and deepening my appeal as a person. I also thought that by living with an American family instead of in a dormitory, I would be able to communicate with them a lot, such as teaching each other about each other's culture. In the future, I want to have a job where I can use English like my father. Among them, I would like to become a ''tour conductor''. My parents, who loved to travel, took me on many trips from a very young age, which led me to love traveling myself. I want to be someone who can bring the excitement of travel to our customers without worry. I don't have any siblings. I have a family of three: my father, mother, and myself. My father works for a global logistics company and uses English for his work. He has also been posted overseas. I admire and respect my father, who enrolled in graduate school to study business administration in his 40s. He has many hobbies, fishing, and golf, and is an excellent cook. My mother is currently a manager who manages jewelry sales associates and supports me in balancing work and family life. She is a very neat and clean person. Finally, thank you so much for welcoming me as a volunteer and making me a part of your family for one long year. I will never forget my gratitude to all of you and will do my best to help you during your stay in America. And I will do my best with a smile and cheerfulness so that you will not regret having me! I look forward to meeting everyone. Sincerely, Kinatsu
