Gabriel
's Letter
Dear my future host family,
Hello, my name is Gabriel and in 2023 I finished the first year of high school. I live with my parents, both are entrepreneurs in the sector of distributing equipment and parts for maintenance of dental equipment throughout Brazil, and I have one brother who is five years younger than me. I love doing sports, for example, karate, basketball and soccer.
I have a good relationship with my family, I play video games with my brother, play football games with my father, and a few months ago my mother started practicing karate with me. In my house I have a few chores, like washing the backyard and the dishes, walking with my dog, organizing my room, among other things.
I like my school a lot, because every moment there makes me happy: I enjoy all my classmates, and on breaks, I speak with my friends, play basketball games, and eat my snack. I usually get good grades and I have a good relationship with teachers and other students.
Among the sports that I do, karate is what I dedicate myself the most. I go to many karate competitions, and I am the run-up for Brazil and two times champion of São Paulo. I have been doing this sport since I was five, and I have loved karate ever since. I would love to teach some karate moves if anyone in our family or community wants to learn. Karate is a sport that helps a lot in training people, based on effort, discipline, and respect, I would like to continue practicing karate during the exchange program, but I understand if this is not possible, as it is not a very common sport. At this moment, achieving fluency in English is my goal, focusing on this fantastic exchange opportunity.
During this new experience, I wish, through my effort and the coexistence with the community and the host family, to conquer my fluency in English.
Thanks for the opportunity, see you soon!
