Dear Host Family,
Thank you so much for being willing to participate in the exchange program and accepting me to live with your family.
I am an Italian boy and I am attending my third year of a scientific high school here in Italy. I love to try new things and one of my goals is to explore most parts of the world. I have already gone abroad, in fact I have visited places like Thailand, Morocco, Norway, Germany, Greece, Spain, England, Ireland and Denmark since I was a child. I want to learn about American culture, share in your life and discover if America is really as it is told.
Talking about my personality, I am a straightforward, curious, sociable, creative and fun-loving person. I am a tidy person and I like to have my things at the right places, so it’s easier to find them .
In my free time I love listening to music in general (although I often listen to rock and rap songs) and watching films, especially action ones.
I am also an athlete and the sport I practice is football, or how you call it: soccer. In fact I play in a local football team and I have football training three times a week.
In addition, I enjoy spending my time hanging out with my friends or making jokes with them. Generally, when I hang out with my friends, we stay out for dinner and then we walk around having fun with each other. I also love to spend my time with my family. With them I usually play some board games like Risiko and watch the tv. Often we go for a walk together or play sports games or cinema and theatre.
One of my hobbies is cooking, in fact I am used to preparing lunch for me and my sister once I get back home from school.
My family is made up of: my dad, who is the Production Manager of an industry specialized in frozen seafood, and he is interested in football and motorbikes. My mom, who is Export Manager of a local pickles’ company, loves traveling and staying with people from all over the world. My younger sister, who is two years younger than me and she is in the first year of high school. We are a close family and I hope to become a part of your family as well.
My favorite subjects are: science, Latin, philosophy, Italian and English literature. Instead, the subjects that I don’t mind studying are history, art history, math and physics. Besides English, for two years during my middle school I have studied Spanish and in the last few years I have started studying French. Once I have finished high school, I will probably go to a University but I haven’t decided which one yet.
I am glad to share the beauty of Italian culture with my host family, starting with the most famous and simple dishes that characterize Italy. I also would like to share the knowledge of my native traditions and folk songs.
The opportunity of traveling in the New World made me more determined to go to America and learn about your culture. I believe that I can also take amazing photos and have unforgettable memories with you and my new friends in America. I am really excited to become a part of your family! Thank you for hosting me!
Warm Regards,
Giacomo
