's Letter
Dear host family,
I want to express my gratitude for the opportunity to be part of your home as an exchange student in the United States. My name is Agustina, I am a Chilean student, and I am excited to explore a new culture and be part of an amazing family like yours.
I love reading, especially romantic novels, enjoy crocheting, and listening to music. My favorite genre is K-pop, and I am also a fan of Korean culture in general. I consider myself affectionate, calm, responsible, and kind. My favorite movie is "Love, Rosie," and my favorite TV show is "Malcolm in the Middle." I travel quite a bit; in fact, I spent a few months in the United States in 2020, and since then, I have been eager to learn more about your incredible country.
I am very interested in participating in extracurricular activities at school since I don't have the opportunity to access the variety available there. I also look forward to experiencing another culture and lifestyle with a different family, as well as sharing about my country, culture, and interests with you.
I come from a fairly large family; I am the youngest of seven siblings, three girls and three boys. We are generally a close-knit and affectionate family, often doing many activities together, such as traveling, going out, and attending concerts. Currently, I live with three of my siblings and my parents. We have two dogs and one cat; I adore pets. My parents work together and have owned a clothing store for over 30 years.
At the moment, I am interested in studying medicine, but I have not made any definitive decisions as I am a rather indecisive person. Nonetheless, I am considering traveling after finishing high school, perhaps participating in a working holiday program; it all depends on what I will be focused on at that time.
For now, I have nothing more to add except to express my gratitude once again for this incredible opportunity you are giving me by welcoming me into your family. I hope to create a lovely relationship with you.
With warmth,
Agustina
