Dear host family, My name is Gabriel. I live in Brazil, in a large city in the Northeast, and is one of the most visited by tourists in the country, due to its beaches and natural beauty. I love living here because it's a place with very welcoming people, with great parks and lots of cultural events. I always like going out here with my friends to go shopping, to the cinema, theaters, parks and concerts. There are several strong events here in my region, including New Year's , Carnival, Holy Week (a Catholic event), São João (a typical festival in my region) and Christmas, the biggest Christian event in the country and the world. I live with my father, who is 56 years old, works as a Professor in an MBA Marketing program; he is a responsible person and very caring with our family. My mother is 45 years old; she is the center of our family like the great mother, she is a Physiotherapist and loves to play volleyball. My brother is 10 years old, he is a very adorable and fun brother; he likes studying and loves playing video games, his favorite is Fortnite. My parents are very friendly and understanding, but they are strict when it comes to education and good manners, so I grew up very responsible and polite. My family is very supportive of my trip to the USA, as they know it will be very important for my life, it is great to have an experience in another country. This way, I can grow more as an independent person, improve my English and learn about your wonderful culture! I usually spend my free time working out at the gym, listening to music, watching movies and TV series, playing some games in PS4 with my brother, like Hogwarts Legacy and Minecraft. On my weekends, I visit some friends and go to the cinema to watch good films that I love, such as comedies, dramas, adventures, horror and sci-fi; I am also a practicing Catholic and I love my friends from the church, which I attend every week and go to masses; we love to eat after the church and talk about what we have learned that day. I love staying at home with my family, talking and spending time together, like playing games and dancing. I would describe myself as a person who is dedicated to studies, open-minded, patient and outgoing. My family and friends say I'm very funny. I also like to draw and paint characters or some places, sometimes on weekends. I love traveling, no matter the place, I always enjoy the trip! I've been to several places here in Brazil and I've been to Orlando and Miami on vacation twice. I decided to participate in the exchange program because I hope this experience can help me to improve my English skills and living and studying in the USA will be great for my future career, and I'd like to learn more about the “American way of life”.
