Dear (future) host family,
I’m Eva.
I live in an own municipality near a bigger city. My father, my mother, my sister and I live in a house right next to a forest. My sister’s name is Marie and she is 14 years old. My father is an automotive engineer and my mother is a content designer. We have two rabbits in our garden.
I love doing sports or go out in Nature. I like to try out and have done many sports, such as swimming, running and dancing. Since 10 years, I have every Saturday piano lessons and after the lesson I always walk my piano teacher’s dog. I love animals, especially dogs.
In my free time I also enjoy reading, listening to podcast, making bracelets out of beads and playing the piano. But I spend the best time with my family or friends. At the weekend I go out a lot with my friends, for example for brunch or dinner. My best friend and I like to try out different restaurants and so far our favourite is Asian.
I started working alongside school a few months ago. I work at a bakery, but only once a week for a few hours because I can’t do more. Every Friday I give math tutoring to a 6th grader from my school. The Youth Parliament, where I am also a volunteer member, meets a few time a year and talks about changes and projects for young people.
I decided to take a year abroad because you’ll never have the chance to live with a host family and go to school again. You get to know the country, new customs, new people.
The USA has always been my dream country to travel to because I have heard and read so much. Above all, I hope that I will have a lot of fun from my year abroad, that I will get to know a great new family, great new friends and what life is in the USA.
Thank you for being a host family and giving young people the chance to have an unforgettable experience. This is not a given!
Best Wishes,
Eva
