Dear Host Family, Thank you very much for giving me this opportunity. I feel very grateful and excited about the chance to live with you and experience life in the United States. My name is Lucía and I live in a nice city in the north of Spain. I would describe myself as a cheerful and sociable person. I laugh a lot and enjoy spending time with others. I can be a little shy at first, but I quickly become very talkative. I’m also responsible with my studies and daily tasks. Some of my favorite hobbies are listening to music, watching series for example: The Vampire Diaries, traveling, and skiing. I also love going to the beach or outdoor pools, and I enjoy doing sports—I go to the gym almost every day. Fashion and beauty are also things I’m interested in. I like pets, especially dogs, and I enjoy spending time with them. In my city, I live very close to my school—it’s only two minutes away. I go to a mixed school with both boys and girls. My daily life is full of activities: school in the morning, lunch at home or at my grandparents’ house, school again in the afternoon, and then extracurricular activities and gym. On weekends, I usually go out with friends on Fridays and Saturdays, and Sundays are more for family time and studying. Family is very important to me. I live with my parents and my older brother, Alvaro. My little cousin is also very special to me, and I love spending time with him. I get along very well with all my cousins, both older and younger, and I’m used to living around family and friends. I would love to be part of a family with children around my age, as I think it would help me adapt better, share interests, and learn the language more naturally. One of my favorite things to do is going to parties and social events with my friends. It’s a great way for me to have fun and connect with people. The reason why I want to live in the U.S.A. is because I’ve always loved American culture and the English language. I’m very excited to meet new people and learn from your culture.
