Nanami
's Letter
Dear Host Family,
Hello, my name is Nanami. I’m so glad that I’m going to study in the U.S. I hope you will accept me to stay in your home!
First, I would like to introduce myself. I’m from Japan. My personality is cheerful, and I like to talk, so let’s talk a lot! I have many hobbies such as reading comics, playing games, playing musical instruments, listening to music, skiing and swimming, etc. I would like to enjoy them with you! Let’s play games and go out together on days off!
I’m in the brass band at school and play the trumpet. I would like you to listen to it. I also like to sing and often go to karaoke with friends on holidays. I don’t have any food I can’t eat, I love eating very much. I want to cook Japanese food for you! I would be happy to help you with housework such as laundry, cooking, etc. I think it will take some time to get used to them, but I will do my best!
I will tell you about my family. My father works for the car company which sells Jeep, Chrysler, etc. He likes DIY and gardening. He often makes various useful things by himself. For example, shelves, chairs, and machines that automatically sprinkle water on flowers. My mother had also worked for a car company but now is a housewife. Every dish she makes is always delicious. Every day, I tell her about my school life and my friends, etc. My family members are tied very closely, and we have traveled abroad several times. We had lots of fun!
I applied to this exchange student because I want to learn about other cultures and to be able to have daily conversations in English. And I would love to experience homestay.
In the future, I want to be a programmer. English skills should be very helpful for that.
At last, thank you for considering my homestay. I’m very much looking forward to studying in the U.S. with you.
Yours sincerely,
Nanami
