Hello dear host family, My name is Matilda and I can not wait to meet your family. I already really appriciate staying at your place for half a year and all the things your are going to do for me like cooking or just taking care of me for this time. Even though the first time we are going to meet is still some time away I am already really thankful that your family makes my dream doing an exchange in the States become true. So I will start to tell your family a some information and facts about myself. Like I have already said, my name is Matilda and my dream is it to do an exchange year and learn more things about the American culture and actually experience the life and the differences there. When I hopefully come in January 2025 to meet your family and live there for half a year, this will not be my first time in the States. My very first time in the State was very early, I was about 11 months old when I saw the beautiful and huge city New York. A fun fact about me is that I acually walked my very first steps in this breathtaking city. The second time that I went to the states was on holiday in June 2022. My mom, my big brother and me went to New York City again. We stayed there for a week and it was one of the best vacations that I have ever been on in my whole life, I just love the big city and the friendly and helpful people in the States. The third and till now the last trip to the States was in April 2023 and it was not just a basic travel to the States where you experience some famous sights and basic stuff like that even though I also do like that sort of holiday, but that holiday was just different. My mom is an Englisch teacher and she has made it possible for me to join the exchange programm of her school for two weeks and these two weeks that I spent in a high school in Oregon were so much fun. I met so many friendly and polite people at this school and it was in general such a good experience and I had such a good time. After I had to go back to Germany after two weeks I was really sad and knew that I want to do that again and for a longer time and maybe I will do that with your family next year. So but now I am going to tell your family more about my family. I am the middle or the sandwich kid in a family of five. I have one older and one younger brother and even though it can sometimes be really exhausting to be the only girl I really love my siblings. Sometimes is it hard for me to show that to them but I hope that they know that I really love them from my heart, same with both of my parents. My mom is like I have already said an English and a Biology teacher at a German Highschool. My dad also is a teacher and he also became the principal of an elementary school. I also have five boy cousins my age and 2 girl cousins but with a big age gap and I have a lots of aunts and uncles .And I have the luck that all of my grandparents are still alive. My hobby is horseriding and I have been doing it since I was 8 years old so almost for the half of my life and it really means a lot to me and really is my passion. Since 2022 take care of one of the stable's ponies that I can ride and come to see it whenever I want but most impotant a pony that I can care for. Her name is Hope and in a lots of situations Hope really gave me the hope that I needed.Hope is not my own pony though. I also teach one time a week little children how to do the simplest riding skills and how to take care of a pony. I spend a lot of time at the stable because I really have some good friends there and I love to combine spending time with my friends and with the horses. I also have a lot of good friends outside of the stable like at school for example. And I would say about myself that I am really good at keeping longterm friendships and actually take care of my friends and our friendship. I still have till this day a lot of my good childhood friends. All of my friends really have a place in my heart and they really mean a lot to me. When someone asks me the question:,, Describe your character in three words´ I never really know what to say then because I feel like I have a really good character with multiple character traits. I hope that I dont sound too arrogant now. So my friends describe me as a funny and caring person who will always make sure that everyone feels comfortable and loved. When I ask my family they say that I am really helpful and flexible and that I am able to adjust to a situation. I think they might be right and you agree when you meet me.I would describe myself as confident and I can be really talkactive and I am a nice and polite person. So that was it about me and my family and my hobby and my peronality traits. I would really love to hear about your family and I cant wait to meet you in person.I am sure that we are going to have an awesome time together next year and like I have already said I already am really thankful for your hospitality.
