Malhia
's Letter
Hello,
First of all, my name is Malhia and I live in France near to Paris.
I got my Brevet (= GCSEs) diploma with the very good mention during my senior year in middle school. I did the choice to pass a part of the oral in English to increase my grade.
Moreover I like to challenge myself. I am actually in the European section. This allows me to practice two extra hours in English (1h of oral+ 1h in the mathematics subject). I also enrolled into Italian classes so that I am studying a third language (English, Italian, Spanish).
As you can see, I love foreign languages.
I have been elected representative for the fourth consecutive year. I am a hardworking student who has the mention "Congratulations". Next year, I will take the AMC speciality: English World Contemporary.
After, I would like to be a international press secretary or maybe a journalist.
I practice sports since many years. I did a year of competitive swimming. Then I did the choice to stop to devote myself to rhythmic gymnastics, which took me so much time. I did it for eight years whose five competitive years with three France championships.
Actually, I do competitive acrobatic trampoline and theater in conservatory.
I really like to do ice skating and rollers.
I like to admire sunsets, eat barbecues and sushies, watching movies and series (like Friends).
I took so much pleasure to find my friends and do shopping. I like roller costers, everything that is vintage and take pictures.
Furthermore, I love travels ! Thanks to the work privileges of my mom, I've already had the chance to discover Quebec, Rio de Janeiro and the United States: New York, Florida and New Orleans. I would like to do a road trip in the United States in camping car. I often travel to Guadeloupe in the French West Indies where is my dad comes from to meet my grandmother, my cousins...
I will dream to do cheerleading, learn surf and to have one day a dog like a cocker, an Australian shepherd or a golden retriever.
I can't stand the smell of cigarettes. And I'm going to miss so much the French baguette.
I'm currently enrolled into a program that will give me a qualification to work with young people in a summer camp and to travel abroad. It's called the "BAFA".
Also, I have a little brother who is two years less than me and we are very close.
I like family times, doing board games, bowling parties, walking in the forest or by the ocean...so, going on an adventure.
So, I want to go in high school and live this amazing experience to discover your culture, your way to live. Be in contact with foreign students, discover your traditions, celebrate a traditional Thanksgiving, a prom, be integrated in a family like any American will fulfill all my wishes.
I think I can fit with American way of life because it's a dream for me to live in the United States !
This stunning experience of ten months will allow me to become bilingual and maybe work there in the future.
I think that I could also bring you a lot from my good mood and my French culture.
Thank you for reading my letter until the end, and I hope I will get some news from you soon in order to get to know you better.
Yours sincerely,
Malhia.
