Dear American Family, Hello! How are you doing? I hope you're doing fine! Because I am. So, first of all, let me introduce myself first. My name is Felarose though I mostly go by Fela (it is pronounced the same as fella), but please do feel free to call me with other nicknames you see fit! Currently, I am a 10th grader in senior high school and I'm 16 years old! Besides of all the things I have mentioned about myself, of course I also do have a plenty of hobbies. My favorite ones are reading, drawing, listening/playing music, and basketball. But before you set your expectations high, it is must for I to remind you I am not that good at basketball, haha... my physique is pretty weak but it doesn't stop me from enjoying it as I feel happy whenever I get to play in a match. In my country, I live in the same house with other 7 family members of mine, with one of my two sisters being overseas for her master degree. My 7 family members include my father, mother, my oldest sister, my 95 years old grand-mother, my auntie, my uncle, and lastly my 9 months old niece. Yes, it is quiet crowded here but I assure you it is a healthy and happy family life we live. In the morning, we rarely interact much with each other because each one of us has to take care of ourselves and prepare for our activity for the day. That is why we usually interact more in the night. If it's a "I gotta go, see ya later" in the morning, then it is an hour full of vents in the night. I and my family always try to share our dinners together (though it is mostly me, my sister, my niece, and my mother) every night. I enjoy talking and venting to them, because they listen to me and they care about how I feel. Though my sister always playfully answers my vents with mean replies, I never take it seriously because I know that's how she jokes. We understand each other really well, and that is why I could enjoy doing everything, even the simplest thing like talking to each other, if it's with them. Moving on to my hobbies, I always try to read a book at least once a week. I like reading because as soon as I find a book that has a story I can relate to, or if it s really interesting, I'll easily find myself absorbed in it and the next second I will be seated nicely for hours, refusing to stop if I haven't finished the book. I also do almost all of my activities while listening to musics. It really affects my day, as if the music I listen first to start my morning will set and decide the theme for my day, haha. About drawing, I've been doing it ever since I was a kid in playgroup. For basketball, I started getting into it in 7th grade. That time, I had to choose 2 extracurriculars to do and I chose choir and basketball randomly. And well, who would've thought basketball would be this fun! Because my sister (that is currently studying overseas) was an active basketball player in junior high school, I occasionally play basketball with her to train or to merely have fun. Sometimes, her boyfriend would join us and the three of us would play a game with I and my sister going against her boyfriend, haha. If the time I get to visit USA comes, I d like to continue basketball and join both the school's basketball and debate club. Oh, did I mention I also really like public speaking? I am often chosen to be a speaker in my school. No matter if it's to represent my group, my class, or an organization. I think I have said enough for you to figure out I'm an extrovert, haha. I have many friends that I always cherish and care about. There are many activities I enjoy doing with them. We hang out occasionally, and when we do, we usually go to the mall near our school and camp at the food court for hours while we talk about our feelings together. If there s a new movie out, we usually would prioritize watching it together. I really like hanging out with them, whether it be shopping, going to cinema, or extracurriculars, which we often do together. Also, since it seems like I talked so little of my city, it is really nice here. Though because it is a big city, the traffic here is pretty eh but there are many public parks the people here could enjoy...Besides of all the fun I have mentioned like doing, I plan and wish to become a doctor in the future. I am aiming to enter this one university in my city that has a qualified medical study, and to dream big, I'm also aiming to apply to Stanford's medical study. Of course, it's easy to dream big. Well, to summarize, I'm a 15 years old with dreams, who also happens to like music, reading, drawing, a little bit of piano, and basketball. Also, there is a secret that I want you to know. Since I really like holidays where family gathering might happen it has been a precious dream of mine to experience thanksgiving. Oh my God. I mean, giving and receiving gifts? Family gathering?
