Oswald
's Letter
Dear Host Family,
My name is Oswald and i am excited to have the opportunity to participate in the
Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (YES) program. I come from a city in Nigeria, a city known for it's beautiful landscapes and rich cultural traditions. At home, I have three siblings and my parents. My father is a medical lab technician and my mother is a trader and i am the last child in the family. In my free time, I enjoy playing soccer with my friends, reading books and exploring the outdoors. I am also very involved in my school and community, and often volunteer my time to help out with local events and projects.
At home, I have many responsibilities, including helping with household chores and taking care of the house. I am a hard worker and take my responsibilities seriously. I am also very interested in learning about different cultures and making new friends, which is one of the reasons i applied for the YES program.
In terms of my future plans, I am currently studying sciences in my secondary school and hope to one day work as a medical doctor. I am also very interested in learning about American culture and values, and I hope that the YES program will provide me with the opportunity to do so.
I am looking forward to getting to know you and your family, and to experiencing all that the United States has to offer. I hope that through this exchange program, I will be able to gain a deeper understanding of American culture and make lasting connections with people from different parts of the world.
Thank you for welcoming me into your home and for giving me this amazing opportunity.
Sincerely,
Oswald
