Dear host family, My name is Imke. I love the Netherlands but the world has so much more to see. What I like to do is be with my friends and talk and laugh, eat sushi and go shopping. I also like to watch movies and do creative things like drawing and crafting. My favorite sport to do is badminton. I think it is very nice that I get the opportunity with you to make my dream of a life in the United States come true. I'm also looking forward to high school, where I can make new friends. I was born in China. My parents adopted me when I was 2 years old. I live with my father and my older brother. We also have a cat. My mother passed away three years ago. I go to school during the week. After school, I do my homework and sometimes chill out with friends. I also like to watch series or listen to music. On weekends I often play games or watch TV with my father and my brother. I also like to go on holiday together with the camper. I can describe my character traits as creative, sociable, honest, persevering, flexible, independent and above all funny. With a year in the States, I want to be able to better orientate myself on my future. This instructive time will help me to develop myself. I like to get to know American customs and culture. I have seen a lot of that through television and the internet and I've also heard beautiful stories from friends. That is something I would also like to experience myself.
