Dear Future Host Family, My name is Jamilla and I'm from The Netherlands. I am a girl who loves humor but I appreciate a good conversation over time. Sometimes I like to be on my own but most of the time I like being surrounded by friends or family. What interests me in going to an American school is the differences. By differences I mean: The variations of classes, The American school spirit, and the number of sports. Going to an American school is also out of my comfort zone and I wish to be a part of it. I want to experience the American culture by being a part of your family. I also hope to bring some Dutch culture into your house. I think It will be a good challenge for me to be away from normal life at home. I think it will help me to get more mature and independent. I'm an only child. My parents divorced when I was 5. My mother is remarried and my father is on his own. I partially live with my mother and stepfather and on the weekend I live with my father. I also have 2 dogs, Monty and Zwabber. My stepfather works at the bank where my mother also used to work. She is now a stay-at-home mom because of covid. My father works at a taxi company. I love to read English books. I also love being with friends and going to the movies or having sleepovers. With my dad, I like to do activities with the whole family such as barbecues and family weekends. With my mom and stepdad, I like to do things such as going on vacations, taking the dogs out into the woods, going to concerts or musicals, and mountain biking with my stepfather. I also enjoy being out in nature. In the future, I like to become a nurse in the ER or ICU. I hope to travel a lot and meet lots of different kinds of people.
