Dear American Family, Hello, I'm Diana! I'm a very bright and outgoing person. I like trying new things and having fun. My family consists of four people - me, my mom, my dad, and my brother (he is almost 5 years older than me and is currently attending university). I love spending time with them. Every Saturday we have a movie night where we watch movies together. There are a few responsibilities that I have at home such as: taking out the trash, washing the dishes when it's my turn, cleaning and tidying my room, and sometimes vacuuming the floor. I live in a pretty small town. It has a lot of nice parks and one big beautiful lake, though it can often get boring. So whenever we have the chance, my family or friends and I travel and visit different cities and sights in Bulgaria. I appreciate and love my friends so much! They are very kind and understanding. I can always reach out to them if I need any help or advice. When we are together, it is always lots of fun. We like to go for walks, go shopping, eat and do many other things. Some of my hobbies are listening to music, reading, cooking, planning in my journal, and taking pictures and videos. Actually, after I graduate, I want to study Digital Media abroad and then maybe work as a Digital Content Producer, since that's something that combines a lot of the things I love to do. My dream for the future is to travel the world and experience the lifestyle and culture of many different people and countries. In fact, this is one of the reasons why I decided to apply to YES. From participating in this exchange program, I want to learn how to be more independent and responsible. As I mentioned above, I plan to go study abroad and I believe that this 1 year in the US will prepare me for the future and shape me a lot as a person. Communication and teamwork with people are extremely important and I am sure that the YES program will help me improve. This exchange will teach me how to appreciate the time spent with others and it will also make me think much more globally, which I will then be able to pass on to my family and friends. And lastly, a few things I would like to share with my future host family. I really like dogs, they are one of my favorite animals.
