Cayetana

's Letter

Dear family, My name is Cayetana and I'm very excited for my next year in USA. This is something I've always wanted to experienced and for me is very important to achieve this goal I had since I was little. I want to learn about your culture and traditions. Also, learning English is very important for my future apprenticeship, since I want to work hard in school so that I could get very good grades to study in the US. This experience would contribute to my future formation, and it's going to help me in a personal way, making myself a more independent person, knowing new people from other parts of the world, and living with another family for this period of time. I want to enjoy this school year and take advantage of this unique opportunity. Knowing all the activities you do, from just going shopping to enjoy all the traditions you have. Almost everything is different and it would be incredible to live those activities with a host family. I have always stood out for being a person who lives things intensely, both the joyful and the not so joyful. Even so, my sadness disappears quickly and I return to being a happy and energetic girl. What matters most to me is to care for and protect the people in my life. I consider myself a very empathetic person, and I always put myself in the place of the people around me, and thanks to that I am very good at helping and advising those who need it. Also, I am an intelligent person, but at the same time I am very self-demanding. I care a lot about my grades and until I consider that something is as good as possible I don't stop trying to improve it. In many occasions this is positive for me, but it also affects me negatively, since sometimes I get overwhelmed by things that do not deserve it. I am often described as a very cheerful person who is always smiling. I love to make others laugh and plan a thousand activities to keep people happy. When I am confident I am not shy and I am very affectionate. However, despite being quite sociable I don't act the same with my closest friends as I do with those with whom I don't have extreme confidence. I enjoy sports activities, playing basketball, soccer or volleyball with my friends keeps me busy and interested. I also like music and I could spend the whole day listening to my favorite playlists. Without a doubt, one of my favorite things is fashion and clothes. Another of the activities I enjoy the most, is traveling and living experiences. Moving all around the world is something wonderful that everyone should be able to do. However, I also enjoy simple plans like a family meal or a dinner with friends. Regarding studies, I am a very organized and dedicated person. For studying, I prefer to write and comment the contents out loud, in a cooperative way. Outlines and mind maps help to memorize and study. My study routine is based on the following; first, I read all the concepts and understand them, then I write them down and memorize them progresively, finally y do excercises if it's a practice matterial. Finally, I would like to talk about my family and friends. I have a great relationship with them, and I am really grateful for all of them. My parents are named Pablo and Marta, and I have an older brother named Carlos, who is 19 years old. I don't have any pets, but I had a dog named Cooper a year ago. I have a great group of friends, with whom I spend most of my time, and thanks to them I can disconnect and invest my time in a fun way and make original plans. I am very grateful for your attention, dedication, and interest. I am really excited to know your tastes, asctividades and family traditions. It will be a year in which I hope to meet and grow personally, accompanied by your help.
