Dear future host family, Thank you for taking the time to read my letter and considering taking me in. Firstly, I would like to briefly introduce myself to you. My name is Sebastian and I am both German and Portuguese. I am friendly and open. I think I have a good sense of humour, love sports (especially basketball), travelling and trying new food. I like rap music but also like to play the piano (have been playing since I was 6). I have a (two-year) younger sibling with whom I have a close relationship and I also like small children more generally. I am interested in this program due to the fact that I get to experience going to a high school like in the movies as well as a new culture. My mom was born in the USA and I always enjoyed her stories of when she was growing up there. The icing on the cake would be to fulfil my dream of playing basketball in an American high school. The reason for you to decide for me, would be that I am very motivated to be introduced to living in a new environment with your help and advice. Furthermore, I am a very social person which means that I am open to interact and to get to know new people I will meet along the way. During my stay, I could imagine us going on trips together so you could show me my new surroundings and, if it is the case that we share the same interest in basketball, we could watch games together or play it together.
