's Letter
Dear Host Family,
First of all, I would like to thank you for accepting me. It will change my life and be the future nourishment.
My name is Miharu. I am 16 years old. I live in Japan with my mother, my father, my 20 years old brother, and my 13 years old sister. My mother is a researcher. She often goes to Africa for work. My father runs the shipping industry. He loves the sea and sailing. My brother is a university student and is learning economics. My sister likes to sail and sometimes takes part in yacht races. I have a good relationship with them and love spending time with them.
I would like to introduce myself. I go to high school in Japan. I put effort into English. Especially I like the class about reading English books. After school, I enjoy art and climbing. On my vacation, I go to my grandparents' house at the foot of the mountains. There are many kinds of animals such as monkeys, deer, foxes and so on and I love them! I enjoy hiking or skiing with my family there. Also, my grandmother on my father’s side runs a beach house and I help her do that in summer vacation. In my free time, I swim with my cousins.
In this exchange program, I would like to know your culture and your way of thinking. As can be seen, in this world situation, there is a great gulf between countries or ethnic groups, and it causes a lot of problems. I believe that it is important to understand each other deeply to solve them. There are a lot of differences in lifestyle or thinking between you and me. However, for that reason, I will go to the United States. I would like to talk a lot with you and spend a lot of time to know about you.
Again, I would like to thank you for taking the time to read it. I am looking forward to meeting you.
Sincerely,
Miharu
