Samuel
's Letter
Dear future host family,
thank you for your interest and reading this letter.
My name is Samuel and I'm living in a small village with my parents Silvia and Sven, my younger brother Silas and my grandparents Gabi and Peter from my mother's side in a nice house. Our family activities consist of a lot of sports, becaause my brother and I are active in sports clubs. We also love to travel in our caravan during school vacations, go hiking, skiing or have family parties. I'm nearly 16 and in the 10th grade when I've written this letter. I'll be 16 by the time I come to you. I'm visiting a Gymnasium (high school) in the town next to my village.
I learn with passion especially in the subjects I'm most interested in. My favourite subjects are history, maths, geography and physics. I'm also very interested in sports. I 'm playing soccer in a club 20 miles from my village and I'm boxing in a club in a small town next to my village. I play soccer two times a week in training and once at the weekend. I go to the boxing training also two times a week. Sometimes there's a competition but because I'm bigger than most of the teenagers at my age, I haven't fought very often. I'm training with much discipline and I'm trying to be an example for the others in my sports.
I'm helping my family if there are works to do at or in the house, for example, help carrying heavy things or help my father when he's fixing something.
I want to do a year abroud because I want to have the experience of the american culture for more than two weeks in vacation and the experience of being in an american high school which is quite different to a german high school, but I also want to meet new people and bond friendships.
I think that I do well in finding new friends because I'm a humorous person and I can laugh at alomst every funny things but I'm also not too shy to speak to a completely unkown person.
Thank you for reading my letter.
Kind regards,
Samuel
