Dear Host Family,
Thank you so much for being willing to participate in the exchange program and accepting me to live with your family.
I love to challenge new things and explore various cultures. Especially, America is a country that I am curious about and interested in. I am very excited to experience American culture and share our culture with you. I also want to make a lot of good memories with you during the year.
I love watching movies with my family and friends. I am a very creative, straightforward, artistic, considerate, academic, and positive person. I like all sports, such as jogging, badminton, and wakeboarding. Especially, wakeboarding is my favorite sport I often ride wakeboard with my mom every summer. I can speak Korean and a little Japanese, and I look forward to becoming fluent in English after this exchange program. Although I haven’t had a chance to participate in school events or club activities for the past three years because of COVID-19. In America, I want to learn many things and actively participate in school events and club activities to have a happy year with my new friends and host family.
Also, I liked music since I was a child. I like to listen to music, but I like to sing more, so I have been learning to sing since I was 9 years old. My family and friends also liked my singing. Singing always made me happy. Singing is indispensable happiness in my life. I hope to share this joy with my host family and new friends in America. Sharing the joy of music with others is very valuable to me. So, I would like to join the school band if it is possible. But it is okay if I can’t join the school band, because I am interested in many other things in American schools and joining other school clubs.
My dad is the general manager of the construction company. He oversees and manages various construction sites in Korea. He is interested in fishing and driving. My mom is the CEO of a company that supplies lunch boxes to the military, and she loves golf and traveling. My parents are divorced, and I live with my mom. But I keep in touch with my dad often, and both my mom and dad are close and precious to me.
If I have a chance, I would love to share Korean culture and food with you and new friends. Since our Korean(Hunminjeoneum) has very distinctive pronunciation and special shapes, I can introduce and our traditional song 'Arirang'. Also, I can cook our traditional dish 'Bulgogi', which is soy-sauce marinated beef. It is one of traditional Korean dishes that is loved by Korean and also foreigners.
I have always wanted to go to America and learn about American cultures and have a good experience. Luckily, through this exchange student program, I got a chance to become a part of your family and make wonderful memories. Thank you for reading my letter. I hope to see you in America soon!
