International Education Week 2011

Every year, from November 14th-18th, the Department of State sponsors International Education Week (IEW). This week is a special opportunity for all of you as Ayusa students to represent your home country and foster cultural exchange by making presentations in your school and community about your culture and traditions.

To celebrate IEW, Ayusa sponsors a special contest for participating students, and urge all students who made a big effort in their IEW participation to compete. Please note that IEW participation is mandatory for all YES, FLEX, & CBYX students.

Our prizes are great—the most impressive entry will earn that student a free Belo Tour of an American city and second/third prize entries will win an iPod shuffle and nano. Participating in IEW is not only fun and fulfilling, but also has great rewards for the most dedicated students!

To enter, please complete and return the application and recommendation forms. We highly encourage you to include photos, newspaper clippings, or anything else that will help you stand out from the crowd. This year, entries must be postmarked by December 2nd. You can submit your application to contests@ayusa.org or to our office:

Ayusa Global Youth Exchange
Attn: IEW
600 California St., Floor 10
San Francisco, CA 94108

We are eager for the contest to begin and to see what great things you will do for IEW—start planning now!
